The United States has incredible national parks, and I had done plenty of hikes (read about them here), including hiking the hoodoos in nearby Bryce Canyon National Park, but I had never done river hiking before, nor had I hiked in a slot canyon (a very narrow canyon with very high and steep walls). River hiking is time consuming.
